A couple of nights ago I had had a little too much wine to drink, having had to finish the bottle after cooking without Di while she's in Italy and was convinced by a friend I could cut my hair fine without visiting a hair dresser, which I hate doing because they always cut too much off. Needless to say, it was quite a mess. I woke up the next morning with a slight hangover to Sahara standing over my bed gasping "Mum! What have you done?!" I had only a small idea of what she was talking about before she continued "All my school friends are going to laugh at you. And their parents too probably. Can grandma take me to school next week?".

It's been tidied up considerably since, but I still wore a hat when we went out to the planetarium and zoo today. We'd just sat down and were waiting for the lights to go out and I reached to take off my hat when a little hand reached out and grabbed my arm. "Maybe you could leave that on Mum? Just till the lights go out?".

Zoo was cold today, and we didn't stay too long. We did manage to catch the seal show though, which is usually too crowded to bother with, but was only half full because of the rain today. I don't usually enjoy that kind of thing very much, but the seals are just so obviously enjoying themselves. Sahara calls them "Robbies"(from Pingu) rather than seals.
